I think that I will remember Uncle Bobby in two contexts, the first is when I ran into him with Sandy at Stone’s Barber Shop in Falmouth when we were engaged and the second was when he took us fishing on his boat. He was quite a character. Falmouth won’t be the same without him.

My Uncle Bob always looked out for me and treated me great. In the past few years when he would drive me to the ships we talked alot and when I went out to meet my Son in Hawaii in 1999 after the first Persian Gulf Deployment Uncle Bob told me about his WWII experiences. If you could believe this story the most important 18 months of Uncle Bob’s life was spent on a Navy Attack Transport. Uncle Bob was married, had a son, ran a fairly good size Bus Business his life but the most important time of his life was on that Navy Attack Transport. I will never forget his good heart.
    Love Uncle Larry

I don’t have any pictures, but there were pictures on display at the wake and Andrea made the cut. It was her wedding picture with the twins right smack dab in the middle of the entrance.

I mostly will remember Uncle Bob for his brotherly love to both his sister, Lemoyne, and Grampa. He often would come over to Grampa’s just to “check in” or sit and talk. The talk was nothing extraordinary and often times there were moments of silence–those comfortable silences that mean that the other person’s physical presence was all that was needed.
I had forgotten that Uncle Bob took care of Lemoyne’s three girls for a full year when Lemoyne was sick. What an act of kindness!!!
Anyway, he also had a tick and some quirkly ideas about things. He was so totally against me going into the Peace Corps, and I suppose he was concerned for me. He told me that Paraguayans were barbarians, because they ate horse meat. He was also well loved as he had two very attractive wives. We can laugh about these as they remind us of our own human weaknesses.
    God bless Uncle Bob!
